All Is Not Well with Lionel Messi, but Let's Just Enjoy His Brilliance

Image
AP   It was only ever going to be a matter of time before Lionel Messi beat the 59-year-old La Liga goalscoring record held by Telmo Zarra. Unfortunately, what should have been one of his finest hours has been clouded by all manner of   stories circulating , including one from  Marca 's Jose Felix Diaz, that all is not well with the Argentine maestro. The talk among the chattering classes is that he is not as committed and as dedicated to Barcelona as he has been in the past. That he doesn’t run as much, that his vomiting suggest a bigger problem, that he seems taciturn, that he shouldn’t be considered for the Ballon d’Or. Notice how little emphasis is in the positive. Has the world got tired of Messi? David Ramos/Getty Images But dedication and commitment is a two-way street. So when he says that while he would like to spend all his career at Barcelona but things don’t always work out the way you want them to, you sense that goals or no goals, record o

Real Madrid Transfer News: Paul Pogba Deals Blow to Carlo Ancelotti's Plans

Image
Gregorio Borgia/Associated Press   Carlo Ancelotti's plans to add some power to a Real Madrid midfield overloaded with playmakers may have to wait after Paul Pogba has reportedly turned down a move to the Spanish capital.  Website  Football-Italia.net  carried  quotes  from Pogba given after current club Juventus beat Lazio 3-0 in Serie A: "I am happy at Juventus and hope to stay for a long time. This was my best game of the season and I hope to continue like this. I just want to learn and improve so that I can become the best one day." Pogba was on the scoresheet twice in Rome, evidence of his growing stature since leaving the Premier League for Turin in 2012.  Mail Online reporter Nicholas Gooden  described how Pogba dominated Lazio: Paul Pogba enhanced his growing reputation as one of Europe's best young players by scoring a classy double against Lazio as Juventus maintained their three-point cushion at the top of Serie A. The former Manchest

TECH More: Android Lollipop HTC HTC One Here's What Google's Massive New Android Update Will Look Like On Your HTC Phone

We still have no idea when HTC phones will be getting Google's Lollipop update for Android, but one developer has posted some screenshots that give us a hint at what it might look like. An Android developer that goes by the nickname and Twitter handle  LlabTooFeR  has posted a handful of screenshots that show Android 5.0 Lollipop running on HTC's One M8. Although the update comes with a new user interface called Material Design, there aren't that many physical changes present in HTC's take on Lollipop beyond a few subtle differences. The quick settings drawer, for example, has a grayish tone to it. The app switcher also looks similar to that of Google's stock version of Android,  as blog Android Police points out. Here's the new quick settings menu: And here's the app switcher. In Android 5.0, you'll also see your open tabs in Chrome here, although it's not visible in this screenshot. The home screen doesn't seem to look much differ

Android tablets at Best Buy, Target, Amazon, Walmart found to include major security flaws, malware

Image
Security firm Bluebox Labs tested a dozen Black Friday bargain Android tablets from major retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Kmart, Kohl's, Staples, Target and Walmart and reported "shocking" security flaws, malware and active backdoors installed on the new devices.  All of the dozen different "doorbuster" Android tablets Bluebox examined were found to include unpatched Android vulnerabilities including Masterkey, FakeID, Heartbleed and Futex, while more than a quarter were sold with security misconfigurations or active backdoors installed.  Bluebox discovered Android's  Masterkey  "zombie botnet" vulnerability last year and detailed  FakeID super malware earlier this summer. While Google has released patches for both flaws—in addition to Android's Heartbleed and Futex bugs—the fact is that major retailers are actively promoting new Android products that still harbor these unpatched vulnerabilities. Several devices also ship with rem
