Messi Under A Lot Of Pressure

Default
Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, has assured Catalan supports that "there is no problem with Leo Messi" and that the Argentine has not asked for another renewal of his contract.
The explicit statement was made as a result of the player's comments that although he would like to finish his career at Barcelona "sometimes things don't turn out how you want them to."
Bartomeu has confirmed that he has spoken with Jorge Messi, the player's father and from that conversation he understood that the problem might be the external pressure that the player has had to suffer recently.
"He is the best in the world and he is happy here, He has to put up with a lot of pressure, a lot of it from the Tax Agency investigation,” Bartomeu told 8TV.
“More is said about his vomiting than his records. They want to beat him off the pitch. On it, he is the number one.”
The Catalan president, revealed that the club also has "no problem" with Gerard Piqué, who has fallen out of favour recently, but admitted that the club had spoken with him about a series of incidents not connected to sport that the player had been involved in.
"He knows what we think. These things shouldn't happen. I hope that this is the end of it, because players should be focused on their job.” He added.
