Barca Hit The Post More Than Any Other Team

Default
Barcelona have hit the post on 11 occasions in their opening 11
games
in this season’s La Liga campaign, more than any other team.
Barcelona’s misfortunes in front of goal has seen them surrender the lead at the top of the table to Real Madrid after a fine start to the season.
They will be rueing the interventions made by the woodwork, which has prevented Lionel Messi from breaking Telmo Zarra's all-time record.
Against Celta, in week 10, the Catalans struck the post no fewer than four times according to Opta, while they were denied on three occasions against Almeria this past Saturday.
They also hit the upright twice against Elche in their first match of the season, as well as twice against Villarreal in week two.
Lionel Messi has struck the bar on six occasions, while Neymar (2), Luis Suarez (1), Iniesta (1) and Munir (1) have all made up Barcelona’s unfortunate strikes to not have found the back of the net thanks to the woodwork.
Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema has the second highest number of strikes to hit the post with four.
Real Madrid (9), Real Sociedad (8) and Villarreal (7) are the teams with the next most number of shots to hit the cross-bar or posts.
