Will Messi Break All-Time Record?

Default
FC Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, is only one goal away from tying Telmo Zarra in the La Liga all-time goal record.
The Argentine failed to reach the milestone in the El Clasico against Real Madrid after drawing a blank, but he has another chance against Celta de Vigo on Saturday.
Messi scored his 250th La Liga goal against Eibar a fortnight ago and is only one goal behind Telmo Zarra’s 251 La Liga goals.
The Spanish legend set up the record in the 1950s when playing for Athletic Bilbao and Messi will sooner or later overtake the Basque.
Messi’s reached several milestones in his last match at Camp Nou – he scored his 200thhome goal, he won his 300th game with the Blaugrana – and has now the chance to reach yet one of his biggest milestones at the Camp Nou on Saturday.
The Argentine scored seven goals and assisted a further nine in nine La Liga
games
this season and could continue his record-breaking form in another home game.
So far, Messi has scored three goals in six games against Celta Vigo, the former side of new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique.
If Messi was to reach or break Zarra’s almost 60-year long standing record, Messi would continue writing history after he recently scored his 400th career goal.
